Bird: blackbird 'turdus murula'

Hatching from tiny sky blue eggs, blackbirds are actually brown to start, and of course the females stay brown while the males flourish to dark-brown/black with bright egg-yolk yellow beak and ring around eyes. Blackbirds love to dig, flicking sideways through piles of leaves and dirt, flinging aside debris for bugs and worms below. They're early risers and often the last to bed, perched prominently, singing their wide range of tones.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free.

Blackbird fly blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird fly blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
