Horse...

The life of a domesticated stallion is always lonely. While not competing, they spend solitary hours in their stall or in a field, far from the mares, although their olfactory sense assisted by their (Jacobson's) Vomeronasal organ can detect a mare's pheromones (it is said) up to 1/4 of a kilometer away.
